Plastic tweezers made from glass filled Delrin®, Celcon®, Ryton and fluorocarbon, acid resistant, several anti-static models, very fine points.
These light weight tweezers and pliers are non-absorbent, have a positive, gentle grip, are non-magnetic and the tips do not open when extra pressure is applied.
They resist acetone, alcohol and most acids.
Static dissipative (carbon fiber reinforced) versions are available for most models.
Ideal for sample preparation, microscopy, etching, electronics, instrumentation, laboratories, forensics and delicate wafer handling.
Especially useful for handling scratch- sensitive specimens and components, cleaning and etching processes.
The materials used for the plastic tweezers and pliers are:
-
Glass Filled Delrin® (POM) - Excellent resistance to moisture, solvents, gasoline and other natural chemicals. Can withstand temperatures up to 250°F (120°C). Not suitable for gamma sterilization.
-
Anti static Glass Filled Delrin® - Carbon Fiber Reinforced, mechanical and thermal properties same as glass filled Delrin®, but are also electrically conductive
-
Ryton (PPS) - Excellent resistance to solvents, steam, strong bases, fuel and acids. Resists hydrofluoric acid up to 35%. Can withstand temperatures up to 425°F (220°C)
-
Celcon® (POM) - Excellent wear resistance and resistance to most solvents and fuels - maximum temperature is 175°F (80°C)
-
ESD Safe Celcon® (POM) - Static dissipative (ESD safe) for handling electronic parts. Excellent wear resistance and resistance to most solvents and fuels. Maximum temperature 175°F (80°C)
-
Fluorocarbon (CTFE) - Withstands hydrofluoric and other acids, resistant to solvents; ideal for chemical processing. Also resists radiation and UV light. Has a high dielectric strength and high surface resistivity. Can withstand temperatures up to 300°F (150°C) and cryogenic temperatures down to -328°F (-200°C)
-
Anti static PVDF - Carbon fiber reinforced, EDS safe material, excellent chemical resistance to acids, solvents and halogens. Resistant to UV and nuclear radiation. Can withstand temperatures up to 300°F (150°C)
-
Glass Filled Nylon (poly amide) - Excellent resistance to oils, bases, solvents, formaldehyde and alcohols. Can withstand up to 210°F (90°C. Less suitable for dilute acids. Electrical resistance decrease with absorption of water.
-
High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) - Excellent resistance to alkalis and good resistance to most acids. Not suitable with solvents. Utilization range is -30°C to +60°C (-22°F to +140°F).
